Hello, I'm Emily

Purpose

As a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), I'm deeply passionate about supporting individuals on their unique paths to mental and emotional healing.

As someone who has personally navigated the difficult journey of recovering from anxiety and trauma, I understand the internal struggle involved and how difficult it can be to try to navigate that alone. My own experience with therapy has taught me how to find peace with my anxiety and heal from trauma, allowing me to live a life free from their control.

I am committed to helping others achieve the same sense of awareness, self-compassion, and freedom.

Training

Originally from Georgia, I have lived in Las Vegas for 15 years.  I completed my Master’s of Social Work degree with distinction after earning a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy, all from UNLV.  I completed post-degree training and supervision in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).  My clinical internship focused on providing trauma-informed therapy for individuals struggling with co-occurring mental health and substance use issues.

Goals

My aim is to empower you on your journey towards sustainable growth and transformation.  Living a life in which you feel more connected, present, and actively engaged in making choices linked to your values.  Whether you're grappling with past trauma, navigating difficult emotions, or feeling stuck in unproductive habits, I'm here to help you overcome whatever’s been holding you back.

Areas of Expertise

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is at the core of my practice. I am dedicated to facilitating meaningful self-discovery and emotional transformation. Through psychotherapy, clients explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences, leading to enhanced self-awareness and the confidence to take meaningful action in their lives.

Anxiety & Shame

Many of my clients find themselves feeling like outsiders, struggling to fit in or meet the expectations placed on them by family, work, and society, as well as their own high standards. My clinical focus is on helping individuals navigate these challenges, particularly those related to anxiety and shame. I specialize in addressing fears, avoidance behaviors, negative self-evaluation, and feelings of being "stuck," which often manifest as anxiety, stress, depression, or post-traumatic stress. My goal is to provide a compassionate and understanding space where you can explore these feelings and work towards a more fulfilling and balanced life.

Therapeutic Modalities

I draw from evidence-based modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).  Using these modalities, I help clients cultivate openness and flexibility, and engage with their values to connect with what matters most to them.
